June 1, 2007 lecture by Bill Buxton for the Stanford University Human-Computer Interaction Seminar (CS 547). Designing for experience comes with a whole new level of complexity. This is especially true in this emerging world of information appliances, reactive environments, and ubiquitous computing, where, along with those of their users, we have to factor in the convoluted behaviors of the products themselves. In this talk, Bill discusses the design process itself, from the perspective of methods, organization, and composition.

Felt like drawing today….

Here is a self portrait I did in an hour from sketch to save. I used Photoshop CS4 which is where some of the nifty tools you see throughout the video come from. I used the first brush option you get with pressure sensitivity for the sketch, Then turned up the hardness and made the ink black for inking. Then created seperate layers under the inks for each section of color.

I filmed myself from start to finish, the process of designing a logo and time lapsed the whole thing for your viewing pleasure!

The Logo:

The brief required me to design a logo for “Saniware” a company which specializes in sanitary wares and bathroom toilet fixtures.

It was essential for the logo to have a distinct logo mark. This mark must be modern, fresh, uncomplicated, bold, positive, and best of all elegant. It also must express modernism, design, high quality and eco-friendliness.
